A Tisket, A Tasket, A Fandom Basket: Win TV Memorabilia and Collectibles
Earn our in-app currency through your participation, and use it to bid on real TV swag at our first play auction.
Remarkist is a virtual playground created by and for fans to celebrate the shows, movies, and books they love. Since we know most fans enjoy collecting cool stuff that represents their favorite fandoms, we’ve made it a key feature here.
On Remarkist, you can collect:
Digital badges 🏅 to commemorate our shared viewings of your favorite TV and movie moments
KRNLs 🍿 the Remarkist in-app currency you get for attending or hosting events (hint: you can spend it, too)
Exclusive cast memorabilia 🥁 from your favorite franchises
Beautiful memories with your new fandom friends 👥
“Back up a sec. Did you just say… exclusive cast memorabilia? Like, real stuff? From my favorite TV shows?!” 👀
Why, yes. Yes, I did. 😎
This June, Remarkist will be hosting the Super Sensational Summer Spectacular, an unofficial, fandom-led festival celebrating lovers of the television show Gilmore Girls. Starting June 3 and running through June 30, Remarkist will be hosting virtual watch parties, cast events, games, and auctions featuring show memorabilia from the personal collection of Remarkist co-founder John Cabrera (Brian Fuller on Gilmore Girls).
What’s up for auction?
The auction will take place inside the Remarkist app starting at 12 am ET on Saturday, June 25 and ending at 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, June 26—that’s right, I said inside the Remarkist App, and you can install it here. That’s 48 hours to make bids on items that could give you serious bragging rights as a fan.
We’ll reveal our list of items up for grabs in the week leading up to the auction. But for now, you can expect to bid on rare cast originals such as memorabilia from a band of musical Aliens, an episode script, and even a signed memoir by Lauren Graham herself! All of it signed, in fact! So yeah, some pretty cool stuff! 🤩
How do I participate?
Remarkist recently launched a new auction house in our app. It’s powered by our in-app currency, KRNLs. Which you can, right this very minute, earn by joining us at Remarkist. 🙌
And that’s going to be important, because to participate in the auction, you’ll need to use your KRNL earnings to bid on special digital collectibles called Mementos in our new auction house that weekend. John will be auctioning off the Mementos in the app, and each will be associated with a real-life item to be shipped or fulfilled after the auction.
If you’re new in town, don’t worry! We’ll be doing special contests during the festival for new members to earn big drops of KRNLs along the way.
Until then, these are the most popular ways to collect KRNLs:
RSVPing for an event on Remarkist then harvesting in the 15 minutes after the event has ended
Hosting your own Remarkist event
Get KRNL “tips” from other Members by contributing meaningfully at events
Collect Mementos in our app, then auction them off to the highest bidder—to learn more about how Mementos work, read this.
And finally, new members who join our Discord have a secret way to grab a nice stash of starter KRNLs. But it’s secret, so you'll have to join to find out how. When you do, simply ask, "How do I get some Discord Körnels?" And yeah, you gotta use the umlaut.
Does this cost money?
You can only use KRNLs to make bids, which members earn through participation and enthusiasm on Remarkist. Members will not be able to purchase KRNLs, but early adopters are earning the most.
Certain high-value auction items—though not all—will only be available to members who participate in our charity challenge, “The Great Animal Rescue”, with a recommended donation of at least $4 USD per entry. Read all about “The Great Animal Rescue” here.
Not a member yet? Here’s how to get started:
If you’re new to Remarkist, and you’d like to start collecting our KRNL token and digital collectibles:
Step 1: Join our beta as an early adopter and grab your unique @membername. Install our app using the instructions here, and be one of the earliest to collect our KRNL token while earning rates are high. KRNLs fuel Remarkist’s fandom economy of events and collectibles.
Step 2: Join our Remarkist Clubhouse Club—Clubhouse is a separate mobile app on iPhone and Android that we use right now to meet and watch content together. You’ll need it to actually join us for our real-time events, and you’ll need to be a member of our club there to see those chat rooms.
Step 3: Join our Discord Server—this is where hundreds of Remarkists are geeking out over the shows we love 24 hours a day, and it’s where you can get the latest developments on the project.
Step 4: Check our website at remarkist.com for a splashy birds-eye view of the biggest stuff happening in our ecosystem.
Step 5: Subscribe to future newsletters so you can stay up to date on all the exciting stuff coming to Remarkist in 2022!
